2018 Acura RLX
Designed with what Acura calls "Sophistication with Attitude," the 2018 RLX may turn even more heads than previous models if that's possible. In the front, Acura kept the bold looking Diamond Pentagon grille. An updated rear end includes integrated chrome tailpipes, additional chrome accents, and led "pipe" look brake lights.
Some other features that make the 2018 RLX stand out are two new deep luster exterior colors; Brilliant Red Metallic and Majestic Black Pearl, created using a special process. Acura also added high-contrast 19" wheels which feature a combination of black paint and machine finish. Additionally the RLX sports a strong center line and pronounced sidelines running from the grille to the windshield creating a powerful and sporty look.
DESIGN
On the inside, this year's model surrounds drivers and passengers with the highest level of luxury and comfort. An exceptionally spacious cabin crafted with premium materials offers more rear legroom than any other vehicle in its class. Other standout features include a flat electronic gear selector replacing the traditional stick shifter, twelve-way adjustable heated and cooled leather front bucket seats, a choice between either the Krell Audio System or the upgraded ELS Studio Premium Audio System, each with a 14-speaker layout, a Head-Up Display which projects a transparent image onto the windshield and lets drivers easily view vehicle information such as speed, navigation, and warning lights, and AcuraLink Technology.
PERFORMANCE
The Sport Hybrid Model cranks out an amazing 377 hp thanks to the 3-liter, 3-motor electric engine coupled with an i-VTEC gas engine. The Sport Hybrid model also features Acura's proprietary Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system which directs engine power, from front to rear, and side to side, as needed. Coupled with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission that features "Sequential SportShift" paddle shifters, Sport mode, and Grade Logic Control, this model gets 8.4/8.2/8.4 liters/100 km (city/highway/combined). Acura offers two trims for the 2018 RLX - the base "Tech" model and the even higher-end "Elite" trim. Both trims include an abundance of technology, luxury, and performance features such as the Active Control Engine Mount system, Variable Cylinder Management, and Idle-stop.
TECHNOLOGY
The 2018 Acura RLX comes with an unprecedented number of standard safety features which include Vehicle Stability Assist, a Blind Spot Information System, a rear Surround View Camera, the Agile Handling Assist System, and Rear Parking Sensors. Also standard for this year, the AcuraWatch™85 Collision Mitigation Braking, Road Departure Mitigation, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, and Traffic Jam Assist.
