2019 RDX vs 2018 Audi Q5

The all-new 2019 Acura RDX has redefined the way people view luxury SUVs. The RDX has made many improvements to their newest model that allows drivers to have a more convenient and safer driving experience.

In order to illustrate just how the newest member of the Acura family out-performs the competition, we compared it to the 2018 Audi Q5.

A More Comfortable Interior

Both of these SUVs provides a spacious interior, but the Acura RDX puts more emphasis on comfort for all occupants of the vehicle.

The Audi Q5 offers its passengers 8-way power adjustable seats. The RDX, however, offers 12-way power adjustable seats, which includes heated front seats to ensure that both the driver and the front-seat passenger have a maximum amount of comfort at all times.

In order to give their drivers an added level convenience, Acura has installed a 10.2 infotainment display on the dash, and an all-new touchpad. The True Touchpad Interface, that is located just below the console, is used to easily interact with the display screen. These new installments help drivers to access their music and navigational systems quickly and efficiently.

Power and Performance

The Audi Q5 and The Acura RDX both have a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine. Although, this year, Acura has re-engineered their engine so that it now delivers 272 horsepower and 280 lb.-ft of torque. The Acura's VTEC Turbo engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The RDX also has Acura's Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) that gives the driver more control and better handling over the vehicle.

Luxury for Less

With the 2019 Acura RDX, safety and luxury don't cost extra. The Panoramic Moonroof, multi-view reverse camera, and GPS Climate Control all come standard.

Additionally, with the 2019 RDX, consumers don't have to buy additional equipment in order to have a safe vehicle. Lane Departure Warning System, Lane Keeping Assist System, Adaptive Cruise Control with Low Speed Follow, and Auto High-Beams come equipped on all trim levels. All of these systems are available on the Audi 5, but they have to purchase with a package upgrade.

With the 2019 Acura RDX, drivers are able to get a better handling system, better safety features, and more convenient amenities without having to upgrade to more expensive packages. The 2018 Audi Q5 and the 2019 Acura RDX comparison proves that vehicle manufacturers don't have to sacrifice luxury in order to provide an affordable SUV.
