AcuraWatch features technologies like AdaptiveCruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow, which offers the evolution of cruise control. The system utilizes advanced radar systems positioned behind the front grille to detect vehicles in front. The system allows the driver to set a certain speed and distance; the vehicle will stay at that speed until it approaches another vehicle traveling at a slower speed. It will proceed to follow that vehicle at the preset distance until either the driver passes or the other vehicle moves over. Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) aid the driver in avoiding any type of rear-end collision. It utilizes the same radar system as ACC and calculates the distance of the vehicle in front. If a sudden decrease in speed is detected, the seatbelt is tightened, and brakes are applied accordingly.
Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane KeepingAssist System (LKAS), and Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) are all utilized to help keep the vehicle in the lane it intended. If the driver does not engage the indicator, and the vehicle begins to drift over the lane marker, an audible and visual alert will be given. If the vehicle continues on its path, the system will gradually pull it back into its lane. These three systems work together to keep you safe and in your lane. Lastly, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA), Blind-Spot Information (BSI), and a Multiview Rear Camera round out the suite of fantastic assistance features.
