How to Program your Acura Key Fob

A Step-by-Step Guide to Programming your Acura Key Fob
Step 1: Prepare You Vehicle
- Sit in the driver’s seat of your Acura with your key fob handy, and make sure your windows, doors, and trunk are closed.
Step 2: Turn the Ignition On
- With your remote in one hand, turn your key in the ignition with two clicks to the right to the On position, then once to the left to properly turn the vehicle on.
- The next steps will require you to act quickly.
Step 3: Begin Programming
- To program your key fob, start by pressing the Lock or Unlock button once.
- Be sure to aim the remote at the keyless receiver unit every time you press one of its buttons.
- Turn the key in the ignition to the Off position, then back to the On position within four seconds once you’ve pressed the keyless remote button.
- You’ll then need to press the Lock or Unlock button on your keyless remote once again, then repeat the process a third and final time to complete the programming.
Step 4: Confirm Programming
- After you’ve repeated the cycle for the third time, press a button on your remote and wait to hear the sound of your doors locking or unlocking, again while aiming the fob at your keyless receiver unit.
Step 5: Sync Additional Remotes (Optional)
- Your Acura key fob is now programmed, allowing you to sync up to three remotes to your receiver.
- Just press a button on any remote you wish to sync to the car and wait for the Acura’s locks to respond to each device before proceeding to the next.
Step 6: Finalize the Process
- Turn the ignition key back to Off and begin enjoying your Acura’s keyless capabilities.
